At first sight, Goliath bird eating spiders, look like hairy monsters, but there is a lot more to their look. They are HUGE, in fact, they are the biggest spider in the world. Their leg span is almost a foot long, and they weigh six ounces. Apart from their huge size, they also have a wide range of color for their hair, which is anywhere from tan and red, to brown and even black. Moving on, they are also arachnids, which means they have eight legs and eight eyes, along with only two main body sections. The abdomen, or back side of the spider, has spinnerets, although, unlike most spiders they do not use them to spin webs, but instead use them for silk, which I will talk about later. Even with the eight eyes they have sitting right on their heads, they don’t have good vision, instead they use sensory appendages, and hairs that detect movement, and feel around. Speaking of things near their front side, their Jaws move up and down instead of side to side like a lot of other spiders. To conclude this section, Goliath bird eating spiders have a lot more to their appearance than you think, so if you ever see one take a look from a safe distance.
